Ciudad Verde, located in Benalmádena, is a gardening company and has been subjected through the last 12 years to a process aimed at ensuring their processes’ quality and respectful with the environment that make them worthy of ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2000 certificates (already awarded in 2006) given by SGS, making them the first local company within their sector to obtain such certifications.
Bolín expressed his double satisfaction because “on one side the good performance of a Bedalmádena’s company has been recognised, and on the other side, such recognition has been based in a perfomance that combines quality with environmental concern”. Benalmádena’s Mayor encouraged all the region companies to follow the example set by Ciudad Verde.
In the same way, Mabel Hidalgo pointed the company has been subjected to this process to obtain both quality seals because “we know the Environmental care is not only a legal issue”. Hidalgo affirmed that “it is about collaborating in the most efficient way available in order to obtain a sustainable development that makes economical growth in our region compatible with Nature’s respect and conservation”. “To help within our possibilities in relation to a very important issue such as Climatic Change”, added Ciudad Verde’s Manager.
