SGS gives ISO 9001 Certification to Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Cantabria
SGS gave yesterday ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate to Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Cantabria for the activities of training, provision of services and collegiate assistance, turning them into the first medical institution body in Spain to obtain such certification. The certification diploma was issued to Colegio de Médicos de Cantabria’s president, L. Pablo Corral Collantes, by SGS representative in Cantabria, Belén González Pedraja.
Pablo Corral thanked this quality certificate and remarked that this certification “proves our organisation’s commitment to drive quality to improve our services’ performance and help our collegiate, the Administration and the society’s satisfaction levels”.
Also, the president emphasized that Colegio de Médicos’ quality policy has as a goal to continuously impulse “a more dynamic performance of our company, a continuous improvement of our processes, an increase in our services’ quality, an efficient management of our resources and an increase of assurance, satisfaction and confidence levels from doctors, public bodies, administration and companies, and the citizens as final users of our services”.
Belén González explained that the given certification implies “a philosophy that, once adopted, needs to be constantly improved, never lowering their guards and looking for their services to all collegiate constantly increase their value”. According to SGS representative, this certification “is not the final goal of a Management System, but the beginning of a continuous challenge” the Colegio will have to face in order to keep it and improve it, due to the fact that the organisation will be subjected to SGS audits to verify their Management System is maintained and has the expected progression.
