Granada’s University Library obtains European Excellence Seal +500

University of Granada has been awarded the EFQM 500+ European Seal of Excellence by the European Foundation for Quality Management and the Management Excellence Club. It is one of the most important awards in Europe and University of Granada is only the second in Spain to achieve it.
The presentation of the award was made at Hospital Real’s red room and was attended by University of Granada’s Chancellor, Francisco González Lodeiro; SGS in Granada’s regional manager, Pedro Sáez de Tejada Hitos; University of Granada’s Scientific Police and Research Vice Rector, Ma Dolores Suárez Ortega; the University’s Quality Assurance Vice Rector, Ma José León Guerrero; University Manager, Andrés Navarro Galera; and its Library Director, Ma José Ariza Rubio.
The European Seal of Excellence is one of Europe’s most prestigious awards and UGR is just the second amongst all Spain’s University Libraries to achieve it, as well as the first division of the Andalusia Institution to obtain it.
Awarding the European Excellence Seal to organizations recognizes prestige, excellence, management and operational efficiency as well as differentiation within a competitive market. It shows leadership and competitiveness through the four levels of excellence, 500+ being the highest.
