SGS Signs Collaboration Agreement with Fundación Biodiversidad for the Green Business Network Project, in presence of the State Environmental Secretary
Last September 17th took place the official signature of the Collaboration Agreement between Fundación Biodiversidad and SGS as body subjected to one of the 29 collaboration agreeements to Empleaverde 2013 program, co-financed by European Social Fund and aimed at the improvement of the employment and environmental conditions. The event was attended by Project Manager Mercedes Rodríguez-Caro and José Angel Guerra on behalf of SGS at Fundación Biodiversidad’s premises.
The event was presided by the State’s Environmental Secretary, Federico Ramos, who pointed that it is “necessary to take advantage of all economical sectors related to the environment, increase the young people’s competences and environmental qualification to improve their employment conditions and to support the creation of green businesses”.
Fundación Biodiversidad director, Sonia Castañeda, added that the projects developed within these agreements will contribute to reach one of the Empleaverde program’s objectives: to create and to strengthen companies within economic sectors related to the environment.
SGS’ Project Multisectorial Strategic Plan for Integration of Green Employment “Green Business Network” has been selected amongst more than 650 proposals.
The Project aims to perform training, seminars, counseling and studies actions to support the creation of companies or new business lines in activities related to environment (green companies) and to channel the financial investments towards sustainable economic activities, to promote and improve employment, to increase the workers’ competences and qualification in environmental-related issues and to support companies’ update and innovation as well as helping the creation of new businesses linked to the environment.
SGS’ Regional Offices proposed to participate in the project are Sevilla, Huelva, Cádiz, Córdoba, Málaga, Jaén, Granada, Almería Albacete, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Ciudad Real, Toledo, A Coruña, Pontevedra, Cáceres and Badajoz, where combined training, face to face seminars, Studies and Counselling to companies to create new green businesses lines or green companies will take place.
