Canary Islands’ Four Relaxia Resorts Tourists Centers achieve Environmental and Sustainability Recognition
Canary Islands tourism organization Relaxia Resorts S.L.U, part of the well known Pérez Moreno business group and with four extra-hotel resorts in the Islands, has achieved recognition for their environmental management and sustainable actions. Relaxia Lanzaplaya and Relaxia Lanzasur, both in Lanzarote, Relaxia Jandialuz, in the south of Fuerteventura and Relaxia Los Girasoles, in Gran Canaria, have obtained Environmental Management ISO 14.001-2004 Certification, all of them simultaneously.
The process has been audited by SGS and accredits that all Relaxia Resorts tourist centers, grouped in ASOLAN, comply with the highest environmental standards stated in this consolidated international regulation, which main goal is to promote environmental protection and contamination prevention in balance with the socio-economical needs and supporting more sustainable actions in the organizational environment.
ISO 14.001-2004 joins other certifications Relaxia Resorts portray: Tourism Quality “Q”; Travelife Gold and Biosphere Hotels, which implies an important step forward for their strategic approach towards “Total Quality”. It is also the only extra-hotel organization in Canary Islands to have such certifications at the same time for all their lodging establishments.
The certification event took place last April 9th at Relaxia Lanzaplaya premises, in Puerto del Carmen, and was attended by Tías’ City Major, Pancho Hernández, Tourism Councillor, Nerea Santana, Relaxia Resorts S.L.U.’s Regional Advisor, Juan Luis Pérez de Armas and Relaxia Lanzasur Club’s Manager, Gladis Scotto de Páez, as well as Relaxia Lanzaplaya’s Manager, Héctor Pulido Rodríguez, Relaxia Jandialuz’s Manager, Michael Thiele, Relaxia Resorts S.L.U.’s Quality and Sustainable Tourism Manager, Natalia Rodríguez Rodríguez, and SGS ICS Ibérica S.A.’s Canary Islands Region Certification Manager, Héctor González Álvarez.
