3 GSM, un éxito para SGS
Last February 15th the world congress of mobile phone and related technologies 3 GSM that took place in Barcelona from 12th to 15th of February came to an end. SGS, the leading certification organisation, was present with their own stand placed in hall 2 in Barcelona’s trade fair facilities. SGS’ presence in this edition’s 3 GSM has achieved fairly positive results after the company’s acquisition of Cambridge’s 7 Layers laboratories. This has favoured an increase of the business in this trade fair in relation to previous 3 GSM editions as has been proved by the number of professional visits received in their congress’ facilities.
SGS has exceeded their previous editions’ business rates. The visits to the stand have experienced a clear increase both in the professional and media sectors, demonstrating SGS’ firm positioning within the congress itself and also the mobile phone sector. Hundreds of developing business relationships was made, SGS’ sales staff from different countries attending the trade fair assisted executives from companies from all over the world, particularly from the USA and Europe.
With the acquisition of 7 Layers laboratories, SGS has taken part in this 3 SGM edition with the incentive of developing new services with a bigger adaptability to their customer’s needs. To achieve these goals, SGS International representatives’ team attending the trade fair wanted to make all their customers aware of all the advantages coming from this new incorporation to the laboratories’ network SGS has around the globe.
Annual trade fair 3 GSM, taking place in Barcelona, is the main worldwide event for the mobile phone sector. This fair’s importance allows the whole industry to have, during three days, a unique meeting point where main manufacturers can present their latest products to a professional audience while sector-related companies have an outstanding workshop space to manifest the incredible dynamics of a sector already serving a third of the world’s population. 3 GSM is also a working space where professionals come looking for solutions for their production’s management, selling or security issues. The trade fair organizing body outlined for these three days, an intense schedule of lectures and presentations where it was proved the increasing interest from manufacturers for waste management and recycling’ issues in the telephone and telecommunications sector.
SGS attended with a splendid 70 square meters stand designed to assist comfortably to all customers’ and professional visits. SGS sales representatives counted with a neat space most favourable to present the company’s products. SGS’ stand, located just in the middle of the trade fair’s hall 2, received during 3 GSM a constant flux of visits interested in certification services, especially in a fair where the industry’s concern for safety in production processes was proven. Also, among all information requests received at SGS’ stand there are some remarkable ones related to GSM/GPRS technology issues, clearly suitable for an event related to the mobile phone sector like this one.
