SGS has given recently the quality management system ISO 9001:2000 certification to Pfizer’s Medical Unit, international leader in the biomedical research sector, for the activity of Research, Development and Innovation (I+D+i) of the local projects developed by the unit.
This certification is an international recognition of their quality system, ensuring the compliance with regulation requirements in the management, in order to develop the most efficient biomedical research projects. The event took place in the organisation’s facilities with the attendance of Pfizer’s Medical Unit Director, Juan Álvarez, and SGS ICS Ibérica S.A.’s President, Ramón Robles.
For Álvarez “the world nowadays demands companies to improve continuously in the development of I+D processes and to propose innovative proposals to increase patient satisfaction, obtaining more efficient medical products, a better knowledge of diseases and an improvement in life conditions”.
This certification, resulting from their continuous improvement-focus, reaffirms Pfizer’s commitment with the implementation of quality standards in their activities to achieve tangible benefits in their fight against the diseases.
