SGS Asistirá a Conferencias Técnicas sobre Energía Eólica en España
The Spanish Wind Energy Association (Asociación Empresarial Eólica - AEE), of which SGS is a member, represents Spain’s wind power sector to different entities and administrations. AEE also forms working groups to take action on actual issues, organize events for the industry and publish reports and studies about the market.
The AEE is organizing two upcoming events after the summer, which will provide SGS experts with the opportunity to demonstrate the company’s capabilities in the wind energy sector.
Wind PowerExpo 2009
Wind PowerExpo 2009 is the 7th International Exhibition on Wind Energy and will take place on September 22-24, 2009 at the Zaragoza Exhibition Center in Spain. The event will cover the most important topics in the wind power sector and international speakers will share their views on issues such as wind farm direction phases, transport and logistics, operation and maintenance, repowering of existing farms and offshore wind energy.
In the session on blades’ maintenance and repair, Torsten Muuß, SGS Global Technical Manager for Renewable Energy, will talk about rotor blade problems and inspection methods.
Torsten has been in the wind business for nearly 10 years. His experience includes working for wind turbine manufacturers as well as a certification body. He has held the position of SGS Global Technical Manager for Wind Energy since April 2008.
Technical Conference on Risk Assessment in the Wind Energy Sector
AEE and the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) organized the Technical Conference on Risk Assessment in the Wind Sector, slated for October 13, 2009. The whole-day conference will be held in Pamplona, Spain, and will focus on risk assessment in wind turbine workshops, transportation, installation, maintenance, exploitation and the final phase of dismantling.
