Last Thursday 14th Cadiz’s Bay Port Authorities were awarded with Management Excellence European Quality Seal according to the EFQM model (European Foundation for Quality Management) given by Club de Excelencia de Gestión via SGS, the process’ certification body.
During the event, the president of SGS ICS Ibérica S.A., Ramón Robles, gave such distintion, labelled as the first step in the excellence recognition system in a company, to Cádiz’s Bay Area Port Authorities’ President, Rafael Barra. “This Seal is reserved only to excellent organisations”, noted Robles, who also pointed out that those companies and organisations that achieve it are “focused to results, to the customers, to leadership and social responsibility”.
Regarding future plans, Port Authorities will keep on working on its internal quality systems and will begin external procedures in order to involve the whole Port Community in the quality certification philosophy. In fact, about 41% of Cadiz’s business park has already some recognition related to it. Also, the first steps to implement a quality referential for Cadiz’s Port container terminal are being taken.
