Publication of “Structure Monitoring via Optic Fiber Sensors”
Editorial Académica Española has recently published “Structure Monitoring Via Optic Fiber Sensors”, written by Dr. Engineer Vicens Villalba Herrero, member of SGS Tecnos’ Edification and Monitoring Technical Division.
This research work aims to develop a comprehensive monitorization and control system for cables in postensed structures. Such system is based in the optical fiber sensor technology to monitor all displacements or deformations produced in each of the peripherical wires of a postensed cable, and to inform in real-time mode of all redistributions of tensions in order to detect corrosion or cracks along the wires.
